The Food Pantry Worker researches and identifies new food sources, aids in building food source database, pulls grocery items from pantry shelves, bags groceries at food pantry, packages grocery items in sacks or cartons, arranges heavy and bulky items at bottom of sack or carton, verifies pantry list of grocery items, carries packed sacks or places sacks in grocery carts and pushes cart to customers’ vehicle upon request, collects shopping carts from parking lot and surrounding areas and return carts to store, stocks pantry shelves when needed, cleans work area and carries empty boxes and trash to dumpster. May also assist in unloading delivery trucks and assisting food pantry and literacy directors with various administrative tasks.
Skills: Ability carry and lift weights up to 30 lbs.
10-20 hours per week
****This position qualifies for Community Service Work Study (CSWS). If you qualify for work study through your financial aid package you may choose a Community Service Work Study position. CSWS positions have a starting pay of $9/hr.
