True Blue Neighbors Team Up With TARC and Iron Gate for Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2019

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is ‘What are you doing for others?’”

Martin Luther King Jr.

For the fourth year in a row, TARC has chosen True Blue Neighbors as its partner for a national grant awarded by The ARC of the US to nonprofit community organizations, with a charge to develop service projects that commemorate Dr. King. On January 21, 2019, True Blue Neighbors volunteers and TARC clients will be working side by side at Iron Gate to fulfill their mission of feeding the hungry of Tulsa.

TARC is an organization that provides advocacy, programs and resources for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to volunteer alongside people without disabilities to provide food assistance to people in need in their community.

Iron Gate is a soup kitchen and grocery pantry located in downtown Tulsa. They strive to be a place of comfort, wholesome food, and a place of temporary respite for the hungry of Tulsa and ease the problems they face.
