TU’s chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed fraternity founded on the principles of Leadership, Friendship, and Service, is growing! APO has 16 new pledges this semester, all of whom are excited to get more involved with TU and service. As an organization, Alpha Phi Omega completed over 2,000 hours of community service last year. With a pledge class that will increase the group’s numbers by almost 40%, APO hopes to make an even greater impact this year. The chapter serves a wide array of causes and other organizations. They have partnered with True Blue Neighbors on a number of initiatives, and served with many other groups including New Hope Oklahoma, The Tulsa Debate League, Up with Trees, the Tulsa Zoo, Joe’s Garage, The Parent Child Center of Tulsa, TARC, a New Leaf, and many more. They have also had fundraisers, for causes including hurricane relief and holiday gifts for children whose families have a hard time affording presents. The mission of Alpha Phi Omega, which has chapters at over 375 campuses and provides more service than any other collegiate service organization, is to prepare campus and community leaders through service.
